Two friends of mine have just got back from a holiday trip and were supposed to be meeting us and four others for a pub lunch. So this morning he says they may not stay long as they both seem to have caught “the common cold” from the passenger next to them, despite her wearing a mask. One of my other mates immediately cried off as he’s driving a friend in and out of hospital for tri-weekly chemo. I excused myself and Claire too as she’s still quite breathless after the lung surgery. Holiday flight man then gets back to everyone saying he won’t be coming after all as he’s just done a lateral flow test and it’s covid positive.
Never mind covid in the control tower, I certainly wouldn’t be boarding a passenger aircraft right now. Anywhere far enough away to need a flight is too far to hold my breath.
We’re at the GP’s for flu jabs on Saturday but I suspect, based on their previous track record, that they won’t have managed to organise simultaneous covid jabs. Why kill two birds with one stone when, er, you can fail to instead ?

My GP practice isn’t doing covid boosters, but I’ll be there for flu and shingles jabs in 2 weeks.
