Yup.
I’d call it self selection but we’re saying the same thing I think.
The last time I said ‘thanks but no thanks’ the senior partners went ballistic at me, really lost their rags and started balling and shouting in their board room. Hel said innocently ‘well they were disappointed, they must have really wanted you’, to which I had to correct her with ‘it’s totally not that at all - they just really really hate anyone saying no to them’

Working for a senior London lawyer was a similar experience for me. It gave me PTSD. Horrific.
