Posted this a few years back . . .
One thing about “best practice” I’ve improved upon is making lots of noise when I hit areas with low growing vegetation and poor sight lines. Referred to half jokingly as bearitory. Black bears will take off if they hear you approach

Do you carry repellent spray? I’m always surprised how effective it seems to be in bear encounter videos.
Still don’t bother with it in Black bear country. The biggest worry with Black bears is them getting at your food. Best practice is to store food away from the campsite hung out of reach over a branch or in a sealed plastic “bear vault” or Kevlar sack

In RFK Jr’s statement he released upon nomination he mentions legalizing hallucinogens.
I didn’t mention that for all intents and purposes they are legal in Canada now. There are brick & mortar and online sites selling Psilocybin, LSD, DMT, MDMA. This is the same way the marijuana laws changed. Businesses just began openly flaunting drug laws wanting to get arrested to be a test case before the Supreme Court. Next year there’s an election so I expect actual legalization sometime before then

Only just found out that a bloke we used to knock about with in the 70s was a member of the Wolfgang press.
In hindsight it doesn’t surprise me he got into a band,as he would dress up totally different to everyone else in the mid 70s with long black leather coat and jet black hair
