The wam will be 20 in 3 year's time

When he was being serious ( increasingly less as time went by) Cloffo was actually very lefty in his views.

Which became most apparent when Farage became a thing.

Fuck it. I’m not gonna lie, I miss those days… Rarely laughed harder than when the best of them were in full voice… Browell at his merciless, withering best was fucking priceless. Chumpy incoherently drivelling. Penance banging like a runaway steamhammer. Random permabans for literally nothing. Cloffo ragebaiting the snowflakes before they even had a name for them, Tuffbob flouncing, AGAIN, Rabski bullshitting like a broken muckspreader…

I’m growing old, but not growing-up I guess… Not proud of it, just too tired to fight it…

Just had a swatch and I joined Aug 2009 and have no idea how I managed to find it in the first place - I can’t believe I’ve been talking so much shite with you lot since then :exploding_head:

Cloffo’s thread about his US road trip was a classic and the thread by the guy (can’t remebr his name) who changed his speakers every month (or so it seemed) and must have spent a fucking fortune.

Despite things going pear-shaped it was a proper fucking laugh most of the time.

It was actually him that started me on my journey into valve amps - he was a great character.

Aidan iirc - think James met him on a bizzy to Singapore. Very much a character.

I believe you have nailed it :ok_hand:

I remember laughing at some great forum names too.

Shatners Bassoon still makes me smile to this day.

Shall we just close this forum and reactivate there then?

Back in 2012. I felt the need to connect with some people into Hi Fi. The 'Wam was the first thing that appeared when I looked.

A few posts in and I saw something called a Bake Off. Seemed interesting. I was invited to a wonderful gathering in Kent.

A warm welcome; the hospitality is something I’ll never forget; Pizza, Wine, music and some beautiful kit.

First time I heard a Valve based system.

Magic.

I’ve retained all the Valves bought from Graham. These have sentimental value as Graham is sadly no longer with us. Had a brilliant time when I was last there. Collection of valves turned into a lengthy listening session.

The Wam changed my life for the better. I don’t particularly like people and I do find it difficult to meet new people; what I learned was that if there is a common interest, things are much easier.

Was that Bourney ? I sold him a pair of speakers.

Now there is a forum strap line.

Not odd, no.

Giant guy, ludicrously deep voice but much quieter in real life than his forum persona would have suggested. Sweetheart. I was there for most of a weekend and didn’t see any guns.

Yeah, that was me. Probably the most unpleasant 24 hours of my life to date. I think it was the wanting to rape Sam for having the audacity to disagree with him that was the biggest “you fucking what?” of that time.

I remember you telling me when you got back. In fact I think you messaged me when you were there. You semeed genuinely a bit scared.
