Is it direct drive or was there some kind of idler/rim arrangement going on under the platter? Lyrec did used to make the motors for Neumann cutting lathes so i guess it could be DD.

No idea Guy, I’d guess at idler based on age but the motor arrangement is more akin to RCA’s of a similar period. Rare doesn’t come close, it makes the EMT R80 seem plentiful
