My flat is a roof conversion.
There is a velux window at about 35deg above the bed.
I have been woken up many times by what sounds like machine gun fire by heavy overnight rain

Slept in the car in Croydon last week

It pissed down just as I tried to sleep
Was a similar noise to Hitchcock The Birds

We frequently give up with the TV or stereo when it’s heavy rain, let alone hail. Ours are quite shallow too and face the back garden which is where all the weather comes from

Are you sure ? I’ve often wondered where weather comes from.

Luckily, ours are mostly hedges and small trees. We do have an 8" thick stone wall which didn’t fall over when a car drove into it last year

Setting up a Volks Audio streamer demo unit for a try, so far so good!

Hungover and very much regretting trying to get an am-dram society going last night whilst in an advanced state of refreshment.

Teach you to go full Lloyd Webber on a drinking session

Musing.
I am listening to the new Sam Lee album.
I am going to see Sam Lee on Thursday.
Sam Lee is a member of Extinction Rebellion
Extinction Rebellion are on the ‘list’ as an ‘extremist group’ alongside Neo-Nazi and Islamist groups.

Wonder if I will be put on a ‘list’?

You will. I’m on a list.

PayPal has literally just identified me as a “politically exposed” person and frozen my account !

Really.

Replacing the sealant around the bath & shower. I fucking hate that job.

You recidivist imperialist running dog!

Thanks, Ciara… “Luckily” we were 100 miles away in Norfolk trying to have our first, brief, holiday in 18 months when our cat-minder called… Hellish drive back through the worst of the storm - 30 mph a lot of the way, avoiding fallen trees, twats who have no idea how to negotiate floods, etc…

The sunroom with all the broken glass is where the cats live - poor bastards had vanished without trace, though Sam eventually found them and coaxed them back in, traumatised but unhurt.

Roof of the house is also through in two places, ceilings ready to come in, water ingress from the intense rain… and more on the way…

Roofer coming tomorrow, Insurance notified, I’ve taken plenty of pics, then cleaned-up as best as possible, and put down heavy duty polythene in the rooms where further ingress is likely to try to limit the damaged areas…

Just hope the cunting insurance will play ball! ARRRGGGHH!!!
