Probably eating the bricks that fell down
Dogs are with our friends and their two dogs down in Norfolk - hoping thisāll only take a couple of days to get stabilised and patched-up and we can get back for a day or two more⦠Either way, weāll have to go back and pick 'em all up!
Fuck mate, glad no one was hurt, and the cats came home.
Even with your low centre of gravity I reckon that you need a builder for this one.
At my 1970ās comprehensive school a good proportion of those who left with no qualifications and fell into the building trade some became quite well off.
Hope everything gets sorted sharpish Paul and no one was hurt.
All the best.
Cheers lads. We all dread this shit, but at least Stuff can be sorted, just glad the hairies were OK!
Red wine oāclock, methinks!
Looks like you picked a good day to be away. Fuck all you could have done if youād been home
I was pretty fortunate, the drive up to Glasgow was uneventful. Lucky considering the m6 was shut south of Preston
None were harmed and you and your domestic mammals are all okay so itās a blessing.
That aināt good. Hopefully the insurance company will play ball and all will be returned to better than was.
100 miles was enough for me in that crap - glad you made it safeānāsound ![]()
That is one thing it most definitely isnāt. Especially since we were just 2 months away from starting major remedial work on the house to prevent just this sort of thingā¦
Itās just life being a total cunt and reminding you that planning is often futile.
Shit Paul, what a bloody awful thing to happen. Glad you guys are safe and sound. Definitely red wine time !
Feeling for you Paul, no one hurt though and things albeit with a little hassle will be back to better than previous in good time. The things folk will do for a new chimney and conservatory roof
Hope all goes well, regards to Sam.
Thatās shit Paul. But glad to see the moggies are dealing with the turmoil is a very feline way
Ongoing clusterfuck. Roofers arrived, tutted a bit, did a crap lash-up over the one bit that doesnāt matter much and left with vague promises of contacting scaffolders, so now weāre trapped in the Limbo of Tradespeopleās Vague Promises, with two large holes in our our roofs, two ceilings about to collapse, more rain on the way, whatās left of our holiday down the pan, and a 200 mile round trip to collect the dogs

My like of your post is not because I am delighted you are having the shittest day since shitty days were invented, but to show moral support for your situation. Red wine wonāt do it, you need to get on the hard stuff asap.
Thanks mate. To be fair self-pity deserves nothing but contempt and ridicule, but Iām still deep into sense-of-humour-failure mode at the momentā¦
No neighbours who can sort out builders for a couple of days
Nup, and to be fair we need to be on-hand to try to orchestrate things, plus our friends are stuck in rural Norfolk without transport but with our two large, unruly dickhead dogs, so not fair to leave them to rot for the rest of the week. Itās a shitter but needs mustā¦
You have my sympathies mate - roofers will be rarer than henās teeth after yesterday and will prioritise the easiest jobs where they can make the most dosh with the least effort.
Might be better to think about it slightly differently - hire a cherry-picker for a couple of days and find a good all-round handyman to give you a hand.
