Gutted I’ve lost sky arts, sky one and the crime channel
Literally have hardly any channels left
Sky can’t check your universal credit as the DWP wouldn’t divulge any info as it’s confidential.
I really think that a lot of sky subscribers get no value whatsoever (Unless they watch sport). It’s like they are in a trance. “Must have subscription although there’s nothing on Sky”.
Yes I did wonder how legal that saying we will check uc out was
indeed they can’t. But if they have special rates for people in receipt of benefits, they can ask customers to provide evidence.
What really pissed me off was them saying if we go to the basic package, we will lose all the benefits we had with the platinum package if we wanted to upgrade again
I’m struggling to see what these benefits were,.
I can probably live without last of the summer wine reruns on gold
What makes me laugh is people pay out big money for Sky packages and still have to sit through adverts, fucking crazy.
I lived for years without a telly and dearly miss that freedom from intrusive, annoying dross, but with tits (and the bearers of tits) comes horrible, horrible telly.
I can live without telly, but I cannot live without tits.
Life is hard.
So. Much. This.
We’ve never had Sky and with the advent of other streaming services like Netflix and Amazon etc probably never will. If there’s a must watch series on Sky I sign up for an offer on NowTV for a limited period and then cancel before having to pay.
The only sports package I pay money for is NFL Gamepass to watch all the games on demand. If I can’t make it to Villa away matches then I find some dodgy stream.
It is bizarre how many are ok with paying 500 to a1,000 on it a year, and similar on a mobile phone. I
I want my simple life back without all these poxy direct debits
Pay as you go, or fuck off
Mrs VB worked for Vodafone for years. Once mobile phones became a commodity they quickly found PAYG was making them very little money. Mean people like me hung onto a pricey handset and VF incurred all the overhead costs that go with an account but the punters were making a dozen short calls a month. If that.
We have a Virgin package which gives us quite a few Sky channels. Not sport. But I don’t miss that really.
VB
Yes, can imagine data has made things a bit different
I try not to have any buy now pay later stuff at all, if I don’t have the money, I don’t have it. My partner on the other hand is a nightmare with argos, next cards etc
I bought my phone years ago, have sim only, 8 gb unlimited calls and texts, £10 a month. The problem is phones are now a fashion accessory/status symbol for a lot of people.
Just like cars on leases / pcp.
making an ethernet cable. You’d have thought moving the printer from one side of the PC to the other would be faff free.
I hate crimping RJ45s
Or a practical solution.
I had the ISSA badge this morning - Special Retina Clinic on a Friday.
Very impressed tbh. Restrictions on entry were good, I arrived 5 mins before my allocate time and walked straight in via the hand sanitizer. Eye tests, imaging and chat with the consultant all comfortably completed within the hour, usually 2 to 3hrs.
I felt safe with the policy and procedure. All the machines were wiped before and after I went near them including the chairs.
Certainly more efficient at processing people now, however the consultant did say capacity is reduced. I’m lucky my eye was buggered enough that my appointment wasn’t postponed or canceled.
Celebrating my grandsons eighth birthday. This is the boy that had a 10% chance of survival at birth, a 3 month delayed discharge from hospital and numerous operations to correct his problems. Happy to say he’s a little bugger despite some of his handicaps. Happy birthday Oscar, you’re one of life’s joys.
Thames?
