If I was working under the car, perhaps.
I’ve done it myself many a time but you often catch yourself with your head in the wheel arch or your foot under the hub.

Just out of interest, how much would a Porsche garage charge for new discs, pads plus fitting? I imagine you make a significant saving DIY.

Me too. Until one day a nut on my Ford standard issue scissor jack suddenly stripped its threads under load. Thank goodness I hadn’t got as far as taking the wheel off.

I think it’s something stupid. At a guess (I’ve priced it in the past but could be wrong ) £1.2k ish. Porsche disk and pad are exhorbitant and are supposedly manufactured by Brembo. I bought Brembo.

Dunno, probably a lot, as Tristan says, most likely north of £1k. I got Brembo discs and pads for £470. I think OEM are Textar, but the calipers are Brembo.

I had to have my rear brake lines replaced at my mot. I realised what that pink mark I’d half noticed on my drive was. 
Doh. Fyi.

Targa MOT next week…
Everything looks ok, nothing seized or badly corroded. I do hose it down with ACF50 regularly. Hard to see what’s underneath the undertrays, though.
Worst I had was changing a nearside wheel at the side of the road.
I had just got a couple of wheel bolts in place with the spare when a truck hit the car and knocked the car down the road a few meters which was scary.
I once had to change a driver’s side front wheel on a left-hand bend on the hard shoulder of the M4. It’s hard to keep your bum out of the Lane 1 traffic. But the incentive to do so is very strong.
