To answer my own question here
I saw an article in the FT about a guy who collects vintage clothes.
He recommended these things
âZero In Demi Diamondâ
I think the general idea is that the paper pads (that last 3 months) have pheromones in them to attract the bastards, and are then, err, sticky.
This particular cage thing is fake from eBay (Jeebus theyâll fake anything - Iâve ordered a kosher replacement that does involve me having to rig something up with string), but the paper is the real deal and I think the results speak for themselves.
Given the hundreds if not thousands of pounds that moths have cost me in shredded suits I think itâs a worthwhile investment every few months.
I believe cedar wood I supposed to deter them.
The cedar wood aftershave I received as a gift in my yoof certainly deterred them. Deterred everything else as I recall.
Some distant relative of my mother use to visit when I was a child.
The smell of camphor = Cousin Dermot in my head.
Camphor = Nan in my head.
We have a combination of cedar balls/pellets in drawers and cedar hangers in the wardrobes.
No moths.
Factory re-setting my Sony TV.
For the last couple of weeks we havenât been able to receive interweb content. I had assumed it was a TP Link issue. So, reset the links. No go. Went searching on Sony webpage, still pointed to TP Link or router. Pissed off was I, so did a factory reset andâŚ

I really wish theyâd bin all the âsmartâ bollocks on TVs. Itâs rarely as good as offboard kit, especially when they stop supporting it, but itâs when it plays up itâs a nightmare.
I concur. While it wasnât working, I was using the Laptop and connected via cable to TV.
The experience was better but I hate trailing cables.
Panasonic are good at this. I have an older âSmartâ TV and very few of the apps now work or are supported.
Most of them use android tv and we all know how good long term support is for android
I think the only ones I use are the basic streaming channels and YouTube. I cast the latter from my phone most of the time as itâs easier to search on the phone.
What other apps are people using!
Our LG is WebOS - seems quite good - we use it for iPlayer as it works better than VM. Our Samsung uses Tizen which is very good and also works well.
I think Sony, Phillips and other brands use Android TV. Panasonic uses FireFox OS.
Such a cool thing to have in a city.
Putting a move to France back on the agenda. The post brexit downside to moving is nowhere near as bad as we at first feared and it is eminently possible using a ten year residency.
This has improved my happiness levels no end.
Where abouts in France? Happy to take questions!
I can see you now, stripey shirt, beret, and making chairs out of baguettes.
