Today I have mainly been V4.0 (Part 1)

After yesterday’s airborne toxic event, today we have a pwoppa pea-souper in London.

Perfect weather for a test ride on an eye-poppingly expensive electric bike :man_facepalming:

and blokey has just cancelled.

Guess he doesn’t like the fog either.

Another step towards grease-fogg’s Victorian London utopia. Wonder if he’ll try and get opium dens re-established

I can just imagine him, top hat, cape and cane, haunting the pea souped cloaked back alleys of Whitechapel, looking for a victim…

A bike is only expensive if you don’t ride it :+1:

Two grand is a lot of money no matter how hard I squint.

It’s a bit academic now anyway. Cancelling with one hour’s notice and no explanation - I don’t think I’ll be troubling them any further.

£2K will get you a decent set of wheels :grinning:

I did, it was a good result for the Wasps considering they played most of the game with 14 men

I was impressed by Ashton Gate when there to watch the Womens football a couple of months ago. Very well sorted.

Yes, it is an excellent venue these days. I live 5 minutes walk from the Memorial Ground where Bristol used to play. I was initially a bit grumpy about the move south of the river, but Steve Lansdown’s £££s have created a top class facility.

Oh, and they won with a bonus point tonight

Just boarded the train up to my folks near Brum. Father is ill, hey it happens, he’s 80. But they are struggling as the admin in the NHS seems to be failing considerably right now.

So far he’s been discharged twice in the last couple of weeks, and both were probably inappropriate. His digestive system isn’t working well, and he’s losing weight quickly. I fear he could end up too weak for the chemo he needs to start soon.

Files have failed to make it from one hospital to the next, and his main consultant is a part timer, close to retirement, who doesn’t have many appointments available.

It’s all very frustrating and upsetting. I know that he’ll die within a few years; this is a resurgence of a cancer he first got 20 years ago, and the 5 year life expectancy chance was below 50% then. He’s recovered from two different cancers since then. He’s done incredibly well, but that doesn’t mean that he should die now of something that the doctors say is eminently curable.

And I forgot to pack my headphones for the journey.

All the best for a positive outcome, Adam.

:crossed_fingers:
