Today I have mainly been V4.0 (Part 1)

Found a travel money envelope containing 100 Austrian Schillings. Don’t even have a fucking clue what to do with that.

And a bill from 1967 for carpeting a house I never lived in with green Axminster: £67,6s 6d. Including underlay.

You can still exchange them!

The OeNB will still exchange unlimited amounts of schilling banknotes and coins of the last series into euro for an unlimited period. The exchange rate is 1 Euro = 13.7603 Schilling.

Wow, about £7 before any commission…

Keep going, you’ll soon have enough to buy a horse !

I feel your pain. I had to do the same when my mum died 5 years ago, except that she wasn’t as organised as your mum. It was just drawer after drawer, box after box, in absolutely no order whatsoever. The expression “never speak ill of the dead” was sorely tested then.

Like the one FoL#2 bought on Wednesday?

Taking the girls to the vets for their annual check up and jabs

For the first time Hildur weighed more than Maddie - 18.6kg to 18.2kg - but the most pleasing thing was the vet commenting on how they were both in perfect condition and how pleasing it was to examine such fit and healthy dogs. Made my day!

After my wife’s grandfather passed away they found crisp bank notes very neatly hidden in folded sheets. Lots of sheets. :grinning:

We pick her up on Sunday.

Lauren’s paying for the horse (we’ve lent her the money until the money from mums estate comes through) and half the livery, FoL#1 is paying the other half. We’re paying the insurance and helping out with occasional stuff like the farrier, it works out about the same as what we’re paying for them to loan, so it’s no problem really.

I get to go up and help sort the stable out on my days off.

Lauren does 3 shifts a week at the pub and has more disposable income than me, so if that’s how she wants to spend her money that’s fair enough I suppose.

Meant to say, Mrs M gives a big :+1:.
I meant to say, you’ll never regret it.

Lovely picture Rob … Tho that horse has a somewhat startled look on its face , Are you starkers other than wellies and a Man Utd No 7 shirt !

Please name it ‘Chum’

Thanks Roger. It was bloody freezing there, so me being starkers would have given no living creatures anything at all to be startled about

It does have something of the look of Kenneth Williams though, now you mention it…

I suggested Findus, but was overruled.

Been there and done that. You mug !

Mrs M is asking what it is. Warm blood perhaps?

It’s a TB, but it’s carrying a bit of fat so not that fine looking atm. 6yo, did a season of racing, but wasn’t fast enough, so was sold on. It’s fairly hardy too, because it was on 24hr turnout for a while. In bloody Carlisle too.

She’s a lovely beast, Lauren tacked it up and checked it over and it stood there as good as gold. When she took it out, she did exactly what she was told, apart from being spooked by a sheep, which is great considering it was the first time she had ridden it.

It knows to check pockets for treats too, guess they learn that one fairly quickly. Will have to stock up on sugar lumps.
