A lovely day to be out, so a stroll from Derwent reservoir up onto the eastern edge

along to the Howden dam

and back down through the forest.

Excellent snaps!

Lovely

Builders finished up this morning and the electricians (two nice young lads from Birmingham) arrived first thing to sort out all the rewiring and installation of a new extractor fan in kitchen and replacing the one already in the bathroom.
It looks like something from the space shuttle and very complicated to set up.

Were also meant to install six new storage heaters which were meant to be delivered by 10:30 but it now transpires that nobody local had any in stock so now they won’t be here till Monday/Tuesday. Electricians not happy.

And no-one ‘in charge’ thought to check in advance.

Typical government contractor .:weary:

Hope you requested a Kondo loom

That’s a lot of work, it must be adding value to the house as well as reducing bills.

Lots of horror stories on Martin Lewis website saying electricity bills went through the roof with the new style storage heaters which are on 24/7 rather than just during the night.

Seem very hard to program so that they don’t keep trying to make extra heat during peak electricity hours.
Will only use the one in the lounge to start with and monitor usage.

Did you not get a choice as to what was fitted ?

In what way is something working 24/7 a storage heater?

It’s not necessarily working 24:7 but it is active all the time and has an element for day time heating which comes on when the ambient temperature reaches certain temperature.

I’ve tried to find some instructions or videos online showing how to program it but can’t find much - the manufacturer website is useless.

Nope - take it or leave it.

Went walking - went from the cafe near Conwy Falls into Betws-y-coed for lunch, then back again, then down to the falls themselves. Mad amounts of water going over the falls considering how narrow the channel is that runs into it.

Ohh we need to get a pumpkin says Mrs MWS

So what are we doing this afternoon thinks me… oh ‘weve got some entertainment’ says Mrs MwS

Fuckin mental - animals everywhere - didn’t get a pic of the baby pig eating bullfrog or the variety of tarantulas. These opportunities were missed when our cat got in the mix and tried to ravage the chicken :poultry_leg:
