Today I have mainly been V5.0 (Part 3)

Visiting the White Peak Distillery.

A visit to Southport today to pay respects to a late friend whose ashes are in the grounds of Southport Crem. Passed away suddenly 20 years ago this month and try to go every year or so.

On the way back home via Camden Town was lovely to see the Black Cap open after 11 years, somewhere we spent many an excellent time with the same late friend.

Image taken off Facebook. The Palladium of Drag above the door is such an apt and great line.

It looks like it’s taken a lot of work to secure its reopening - long may it continue.

Camden Town is such a warzone on any given night  Bloody love it.

Yep, although not involved it does appear to have been a hard fought cause. The work itself has been pretty quick to be honest. It was squatted for many years but it appears to be by people who didn’t trash it which may have helped. Will certainly visit in the next month or so. It all brings back memories of a long evening in the back of the Cap, followed by dancing in the Cage next to Chalk Farm tube, kebab from Marathon opposite the Roundhouse and a walk home.

And… what’s the verdict?

Uhm, I may or may not have developed a falafel habit from Marathon during Desertfest

Blimey. A lot of flowers have come out this week. We were there last Saturday & very little beyond a few daffodils.

It was an excellent tour, very knowledgeable, we sampled four very different whiskies, with the bourbon barrel finish being my personal favourite and the Port barrel a close second.

Very much recommended :+1:

I must admit to having (had) a small collection…

Including a ballot-only cask strength, which remains unopened. For now :smiling_face_with_horns:

OMG, jealous!

We started buying the gin when they first set up, but I think the recipe for the original was changed somewhere along the line and now it disagrees with Claire (indigestion), but the Bakewell Pud one is still great.

I may have said before, but the whiskies really remind me of Arran Distillery’s output (a very good thing)

We haven’t tried the Gin yet (Donna and i are a big fan of the Dartmoor Distillery), but plan to visit them soon.

Dartmoor Distillery you say

We’re due down there again at the beginning of August (search dog training)
