Glad everything was straightforward Al.

Thanks Kev - it’s a bittersweet feeling but I know my Mum would be chuffed to know she helped pay the mortgage off. ![]()

Gym this morning. When I arrived home N had a gentleman caller.
“Who is this ?” I enquire.
“He’s here to buy shit !” She replied.
So all of N’s Late Mother’s family postcards (1900 thru 1960), 1st Day Covers, Special Mail Issue stamps, plus 3 stamps albums, all taken by a decent bloke who is a collector and trader.
Some he will keep, some he will move on.
Made us an reasonable offer which was accepted.

Yesterday: grasped the nettle(s) and resolved two awkward personal situations fairly satisfactorily. There was always going to be a degree of fudging involved but I think the outcomes are ok.
Today: all our furniture is from the 90s and just sits where it was plonked down in 2005. With the wife’s impending retirement it turns out that we’ve both been independently pondering some reorganisation of the house so a light lunch in town followed by a couple of chichi furniture shops. Might squeeze Bucherer in too.
Nice that the temperature begins with a 2 rather than a 3 as well.
Been a busy week for me. John Grant and Richard Hawley doing Patsy Cline on Monday.
Wednesday was a trip to the big smoke. Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic doing Beethoven and Ortiz at the Albert Hall. Thursday was a long session in the city with some old workmates, yesterday was a bad hangover, some shopping, late lunch at Fallow then Cabaret at the Kit Kat club. Back up the road today to give my liver, stomach and wallet a well earned rest.
Cabaret was outstanding, if you get the chance to see it I’d highly recommend it.
