Coyote on my local walk today, just a few minutes ago . . .
Two actually, that one which was more red and very wolfy looking, and a smaller grey and black that was more skittish and stuck to the edge of the woods.

Big day for electrics today.
We’ve lived here sufficiently long that things are starting to reach end-of-life so it’s a new consumer unit, remedial work on historical bodges and replacement of the remainder of fluorescent and halogen lights.
TBH I’m not confident that he’ll finish in a day, but he’s the domain expert so …

He’s brought along another sparks who usually covers Eltham.
They just opened up a lighting circuit that he identified as a wrong un during the survey. Yikes! 
Patching up again, possibly our last day up there this winter.
A pleasant, mild day and even this Peacock, found in the partly collapsed wall, was still moving

Well that was a bit of a marathon.
The mystery neutral-to-earth short that disappeared during the survey of course re-emerged as soon as things were perturbed and proved to be a beyotch to locate.
They were understandably pleased to be able to point to what it was and know that it was fixed.
The new lights are also much better than the variously shitty plastic or very shiny 90s ones.

Presumably a heckuva lot more energy efficient, if replacing halogen & florescent fittings too, Guy!
When I had me wee kitchen refurbed nearly 15 years back I insisted they bin t’ flourescent fitting with 65w tube. The pendant jobbie with high lumens output 17w led has saved a considerable amount of kwh units over t’ years & makes it a pleasanter room to work in.

Absolutely. That was half the point. The only non-LED thing left is a set of under-cupboard lights that never get used because they’re shit

Yup me too fer some time now Guy. Just have one remaining older style energy efficient job thats only around 9/11w in any case & doesn’t see regular or sustained use.
Considering all the tech & oodles of home entertainment I enjoy I still manage to be at the greener end of energy efficiency fer use of leccy.
