Jan just pointed out that the pup didn’t have crampons and ice axe.
Four poor drive works.

Did my Mountain Leader & Rock Instructor training at Plas-y-Brenin too many years ago to actually remember the dates, and have very fond memories of Tryfan & The Glyders. Sadly I never made back over the years to properly enjoy the experience & fear I’ve now missed the boat on their potential delights!
Not neccessarily - you might not want to do a full winter thing, but my first trip up the Glyders was with my Grandfather who was about 70 at the time.
Your confidence in my ability is much appreciated and I thank you , but sadly my days of hanging off anything even vaguely precipitous fucked off a few years ago! Even assuming that I could once again attain the physical fitness necessary something has switched in my head and these days I struggle to use step ladders to change a light bulb, so anything even vaguely “ridgy” scares the out of me! Last time I tried anything along those lines I had a fucking horrendous panic attack half way up Roseberry Topping () & ended up descending on my hands & knees!
Pretty significant change in snow levels in a fairly brief period there.
Was just thinking that.
Yup. Bit muddy underfoot in the fields.
Presenting in front of 70-80 colleagues. I get terrible stage fright but it wasn’t a disaster. Some nice feedback received. Yay me.
Having a listen to a lovely pair of Altecs. Very nice
Out for my morning constitutional and surveying the usual weekend carnage.
It looks like they’ve been having a right old demolition derby on the south circular with multiple wrecked railings, destroyed lamp posts and the tell-tale remnants of windscreens.
At least they’ve finally filled the hole with the burst water main and removed the temporary traffic lights. You can imagine what that does for the already atrocious traffic. However to me it looks like it’s blown again a few feet further up the road. I’ll go for another snoop this afternoon to see if it’s deteriorated
Oh, and there’s a CSI van parked around the corner from my house
French Lessons for an hour. Much needed lie in before that as have been up for work between 03:30 and 04:15*
*Have to take Alison to work as trains don’t run early enough on the weekends!
Updating Asset UPnP on my NAS.
Given that I use it a lot and have tweaked the config quite a bit, it’s slightly squeaky-bum time.
edit: it’s doing a full re-index. This may take a while.
Interesting that the mighty Front 242 have finally been eclipsed by Pete Namlook. This is off the back of several huge ambient compilations with (variously) Klaus Schulze and Bill Laswell.
edit:
29 less tracks, but 2 more albums
Lotta music there, fo sho.
Luckily there are no issues with storage, and it has no pecuniary value so there’s no question of need, temptation or possibility of selling.
The main problem is finding things that get buried. This afternoon I uncovered
which was a nice surprise.
This, generally
Trying to deal with the utterly useless cunts that are HMRC.
Submitted self assessment and it says I owe £887, go to pay and it now says I owe £17,990.62
First call on hold for 20mins and agent answers and immediately hangs up
On the second call been on hold for 40mins now
I’m still waiting for a repayment I requested a month ago.
Got through and the response was basically “pay the £18k and then lodge an appeal to request a repayment of the difference”
So I paid the £887 online and they go fucking whistle.
