And congrats about the job by the way, you start to question yourself after a prolonged period of unemployment, (I know I did), great that you are back.
It’s Feb, the Lake District is empty so we went for a bimble in the Landy.
Up and down Hardknot, road is utterly fucked so i chuckled when i saw the lowered hot hatches about to go up. Here at the bottom, Wrynose awaits
After Wrynose, turn left up the hanging valley and past Blea Tarn into the top part of Greater Langdale.
Great Knot, Crinkle Crags and Bowfell shrouded in mist.
The Pike standing guard, just the best looking peaks in the Lakes and visable from miles around, shit pic, but zoom in.
Then drive out past Dungeon, turning right at Chesters to get home.
.
Too cold for tunes in the barn. The big plastic bit arrived so I replaced the broken bit in the washing machine door, which fell off last week. Only took two hours and I only forgot one bit, so swift dissassembly of ten screws, then all back together and back on the machine. 30 quid rather than 150 for a new door. Has so far washed one load OK, so fingers crossed…
Walking up Tryfan. First time I’ve done the peak, although done plenty in the area now. Cloudy pretty much start to finish, but given it was also dry and almost no wind, I’ll take that. Did get to give the new crampons an airing near the top, which was nice.
Love that drive and climbed all those fells.
Nice one , my lad puts his stuff out digitally, may as well give him a plug . Noise rock apparently
More worrying is the amount of gunk coming out of johns ear.
That’s why I don’t get involved in long hikes
I was going for more of a Reinhold Messner vibe:
And Messner is cooler than Bonnington in that regard - first person to climb all the 8,000m peaks, and did it without any supplemental oxygen.
I thought it was closer to Joe Tasker
I’ll take that
Needs work
Sorry Rob, but your write up isn’t a patch on @murrayjohnson 's
