Few projects at work are so delayed that the hardware purchased for them has gone ‘end of life’ so grabbed a few bits of kit that are being binned.
Stripping out the 64GB sticks of RAM from two of the UCS blades and 24x 800GB SSD drives from a netapp for my home server.
Server now has 1.5 TB of RAM and 10 TB of Raid 10 storage 
Respect: that’s a LOT of dwarf-amputee porn 
Yesterday, I had been mostly - in-between bouts of heavy drinking - being entertained by The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars in that there Spalding:

Out for a bike ride early doors today. Stopped off at Underfall Yard for coffee before a spin down the Avon Gorge.
FoL#2 Lauren occasionally gets a few of her mates together to take their horses to Ainsdale beach (where Red Rum used to get a run out).
When they go for it, the pounding hooves on the firm sand sound like Armageddon, you can actually feel them coming from a fair distance away.
It’s quite an experience to have them storm past at full pelt on either side of you.
This was very much the effect. Natural power.
