Today I have mainly been V5.0

Waiting for a decent turn out for the bowrl cancer test sample. A weekends worth of cider still coming through.

Thanks for the reminder, I have a poo sticks kit here too. :grinning:

Discovering I may have an allergy to apple juice.

Drank half a bottle of (not so) Innocent apple juice yesterday lunchtime and spent the afternoon and evening turning myself inside out and still producing the nastiest sulphurous farts every 2 mins this morning.

Won’t be touching that fucking stuff again.

Never trust anyone who doesn’t laugh at a fart, even their own.

SWMBO has decreed that she wants some enhancements done to her lounge (of here choosing thankfully not mine) which appear to go beyond a lick of paint and so I’m now trying to interpret her wishes and source stuff for a bit of the DIY.

Oh and apparently this all has to be done for Christmas but obviously didn’t think it particularly mattered that she could have told me all this at least a month ago when there might have been time.

You can’t do much with these shorter days.
Now if only you had some power for lighting!

I could come up and lend a hand?

Give it the old Gyro razzle-dazzle: torch the garden, paint the dog, stab the washing machine with a mole grip.

It might give her pause for thought the next time she wants something done :+1:

Flooring ordered, stove fire narrowed down to one of two. Evening to be spent coaxing Hel through a number of paint charts to find the perfect brown (calling @A_Touch_of_Cloth ).

After what must be a month of winds coming from the south it has now switched to northerlies. Cold northerlies.

The air temperature may be around 4c but the wind chill is making it feel like -4c and it’s that time for the monthly shopping trip.

Brrr!

Snow forecast for tomorrow but I’ll believe that when I see it.

Last leg of the journey home

The car is crammed with goodies but only the perishables will be unloaded tonight, the rest can wait until tomorrow

Kudos for timing the journey with a near full moon and a (I think) a smooth sea :+1:

The sea was a lot more choppy than it looks there but the longest crossing is only 25 mins so the sea state doesn’t really matter unless it’s too bad for them to sail.

Unless it’s a a dry pond in July I’m out :face_vomiting:

Discovered today the obvious-in-hindsight issue of scraping the ice off a car that has automatic wipers. Sure made me jump!

You need to plug it in at night so that it defrosts itself…oh sorry I forgot

Been in the brewhouse producing 50 pints of a 5% (ish) West Coast style IPA. I used a cocktail of 7 different hops (Amarillo, Cascade, Azzaca, Ekuanot, Archer, Mosaic, and Wa’iti).
Also engaged a new temperature control cabinet.
Temperature control in essential, as fluctuations cause “off” flavours. The old cabinet was too unreliable.
4 days in, I’ll be “dry hopping” with a combination of Cascade, Citra, and Amarillo.
