Today I have mainly been V5.0

FoL V3.0 is going skiing tomorrow for half-term flying out of MCR airport. We have to drop her off at school at 3:30a.m. so I will be up at 2:45 to make her a bacon sandwich before driving to the school.

Good night all.

Night Olan

Family evening at the waking the tiger ( great shout @murrayjohnson ) and then an escape room , up early for the daughters first big gymnastic competition and then skydiving in the afternoon.

Full on weekend , shattered all week in work I reckon

That actually is what’s motivating me to go for it, last night’s disgraceful scenes in Knowsley (near Liverpool, one of the most diverse cities on the planet, ffs!) pushed me over the edge to actually apply for the job, rather than just think about it just because I’m pissed off with my current situation.

No point going to bed Ólan, there is a thread specifically for situations such as this.

To be honest Rob, Liverpool being referred to as a diverse city is a real bugbear of mine . I’m Liverpool 15 born and bred and yes we have big Afro-Caribbean and Chinese communities of multiple generations but what I can’t get my head around is where are all the blokes of my age (62) when I’m out in the town centre ?. Ok maybe some don’t drink alcohol and the younger ones don’t go in old blokes boozers but “town” is overwhelmingly white. Anyway rant over, this isn’t the place, for as long as I’ve “known” you over various forums you deserve this chance :+1:

Fuck off am an SPTO, fucking admin twats can fuck off.

I can’t argue with that mate, and honestly, I’ve been trying to compose a reply for ages without it coming across as crass.

When I go out in town, it seems pretty diverse to me, but when I go out in Crosby or Waterloo
or Formby, where I actually have friends and family, yeah, it’s very much less so.

But if my family and friends were from Toxteth or Garston, my experience might well be very different?

I actually don’t know.

I am knackered now but at least it’s (almost) done.

Edit: really looking foward to rediscovering a vast swathe of records that have just been too much hassle to get to until now.

That’ll be the concentrate, I imagine.

Reading up about tenancy rights and trying to work out if the landlord has a responsibility to fix the plaster falling off everywhere in my living room and bedroom

Anyone an expert in this?

Any idea why it’s falling off?

Not really, it might be water damage as it’s very powdery

Annoys me that if I was to move out it’d be sorted immediately, been here almost a decade now

I might go to the agency tomorrow and have a word. Like I’ve been doing for years

Bit of ‘life laundry’ having a good clear out and getting shot of stuff that I don’t need anymore.

Got rid of my work suits, shirts and some shoes. I had 15 work suits and shirts, one a day with one week’s in the dry cleaners at any one time. All now cleaned and off to charity shop as they’re all in decent nick with at least one pair of unworn trousers each.

That said I can’t see many takers given my odd shape, tall upper body and short legs

Feels very satisfying to have drawn a proper line finishing that part of my career that is thankfully over.

I did the same a few weeks ago, it’s a lovely feeling!

Charity shops now awash with suits that no one wears any more!

Bet you all kept your cunty shoes though!

I am down to 3 suits ( including a dinner suit I wear twice a year) but still have about a dozen pairs of cunty shoes.

What’s a “work suit”? I only wear one for interviews (and didn’t for the last one anyway). Suits are for weddings and funerals.
