Surely battery powered boats are too heavy to float though ?

Yes, they’re great - quite a few coming onto the Norfolk Broads over the last couple of years. Total contrast to the noisy, thrummy, bone shaking boats of the past.

About 10 years back we had a two week holiday on a decent sized cabin cruiser in Ireland on the Erne/Shannon. Scenery, pubs and Irish folk were all fantastic but the experience was spoiled somewhat because the diesel engine was located directly below the living area. The noise/vibration was awful.

And smell (some of the time) TBF my BiLs diesel canal boat isn’t to bad in that regard but some of the others were/are very smelly.

We went on a small electric ferry across one of the lakes at Plitvice in Croatia & it was lovely

Circumstances are forcing me to very-belatedly join the C21st.
One steep, painful and probably expensive learning-curve incoming…
…but so far pretty impressed how much tech Ā£104 can purchase.
It’s actually a genuinely nice object, and works exceedingly well - presumbaly the 4-Ā£igures equivalents from the big names unfold into giant killer robots or summink?

It’s also very green…

The Moto are very good value for money. In the last ~10 years I’ve either them or Google own brand (because no crapware).

19 years after we applied our applications for the Melbourne Cricket Club finally reached the top of the list. Today I applied for my MCG members card with the intention of going to the Boxing Day Test again as soon as possible. Might go to the footie too…

Dealing with my insurance company after an accident coming home from work,
A wee prick driving a Renault van turning right on a fast section of the A70 pulled into my path and I skelped him on his rear quarter. Whilst they take 5mins to cover you and take your money it took me 4hrs to get my claim through with all the details they required. No injuries to either me or him but my car is a write off. That being said, the insurance co. kicked into life as a no fault claim and I have a replacement car being delivered tomorrow. The advantages of fully comp.
I really can’t complain after 43 years of driving this is the only car incident, bikes are another story.

X.
