Most cars just shut off when your speed reaches zero and you keep the brakes on. It’s annoying because you can’t (for example) put the handbrake on and release the footbrake or the engine restarts. I think the sums were that a 3 second stop was worthwhile, any longer was even better.
mine only restarts when I engage the clutch.
Ah , fair enough. I’m in an auto now so it’s linked to the footbrake.
Very much fleeced at Pennywell Farm.
Wow, that’s a blast from the past, it must be 30 years ago we last visited Pennywell farm, I remember the youngest falling in pig poo, she didn’t half smell for the rest of the day. It was overpriced even back then, but an enjoyable day. I think it’s the Dartmouth regatta shortly, well worth a visit, if only for the pasties from the baker in the butterwalk.
Micro pig racing is fun
Back to work today….
Not sure what happens to the losers, but the sausage rolls here look good.
The Astra lives for another 12 months
Think of it as a light-year !
Just like any good bakeoff, I can assure you that there was also salad out of shot in each case.
Just back from a couple of days up near the Welsh border
Ironbridge
Pontcysyllte Aquaduct
Llangollen Horseshoe Falls
Had a stop off at Shrewsbury on the way home. Have never been before and was quite shocked how nice the town centre was. Unlike so many towns it doesn’t look totally run down and has a refreshing number of independent shops to browse.
I live in Broseley, 5 min up the road from Ironbridge, towards Shrewsbury.
Riding out to Cheddar, via a tea stop with old ma Waxy. Got caught in torrential rain 8km from home which saved me having to clean the bike when I got back
92km in all. I have just inhaled a huge plate of food.
Some snaps from the day. Nothing that inspiring as the weather was so dull.

Nice, had a family gathering in cheddar earlier in the year. See any of the goats?
Not this time. Was too busy trying not to fall off my bike on the hill! I usually see them when I do the circular gorge walk.
At Hidden Valley, a gritty and realistic historical museum of Cornish life in times past.
Never been able to find it
