I’ve always liked the idea behind the arms with rotating headshells, with clever systems to have zero tracing error. Why not work out what the shortest one you could make is?

Theyre shit. Because they still require bias - they solves one problem, without solving a bigger one (imo) and add compromise, i.e, flex, rattling bearings, etc.

Also, why short? Doesn’t make sense geometrically, e.g. when dealing with warps, etc. Minimal length is not desirable. What you want is infinite length with minimal (not zero, though) mass.

I know, but I wasn’t suggesting you do it as a route to developing the greatest tonearm ever. It’d just be fun.
