What your posts lack in quantity they certainly make-up for in quality!

Love it, and Bravo! :clap:

When you hoard shit that’s worth zip and matters to very few people world wide. It’s the little victories. :laughing:

I’ve just had a set of feeler gauges delivered which are absolutely drenched in some kind of oil. I bought them to use for guitar setup so anyone have an idea how I can safely remove the oil without compromising the functionality so my guitar necks don’t get covered in carbo-jizz?

Al.

Isopropyl alcohol would do it but the oil is to make them easy to separate (or prevent rusting, depending on what they’re made from)

I remember seeing a video about this a little while back, can’t remember where but this covers it!

Amacuntz ā€œSpurtarā€ inexpensive specials, so I’m guessing steel of some grade but not necessarily good steel. Tbh I’ve never known a set rust on me, but them was the days when they used to reside in the bottom of an oily greasy m/c maintenance toolbag so possibly less likely to be stored correctly, and gapping spark plugs is rather less contamination critical than my prized guitars? :thinking:

Off the wall thought, bit what about PMAC’s idea of cleaning them with Iso & then lubricating with an organic ā€œpre event emission?ā€ :thinking:

@Penance?

Well clean the oil off them and experience it for the first time.

:wink:

I keep mine well lubricated for that reason!

Send me a sample of your wares and I’ll pass it through my ISO calibrated ā€œSlipometerā€ to assess its suitability?.. :face_with_monocle:

Get some Astro Glide to keep your tool slippery.
