Love one of the negative reviews
“Should have known better just got sucked in by the low price and good looks, abit like the mrs!”
Been using a set like that for years, rate them
Have the silver finish ones, they were my work set. Very popular in the electrical trade down here.
I bought a new table saw last week and I have to say I’m bitterly disappointed. It came as part of a deal so I’m stuck with it unfortunately
I collected this beauty yesterday, 952kg of fantastic engineering. I’m still researching its age but I believe it’s around 70yrs and everything runs smooth as silk. It’ll be used alongside my Wadkin MA mortiser and PK dimension saw.
Awesome, what do you use all that industrial spec kit for ?
I have a joiners shop, we work on heritage/period accurate projects.
Fantastic. What a dream job
Awesome, what rpm does is operate at?
And what diameter is the disc?
1200rpm and 30”. I still need to wire it in but the bearings just run and run. I’ll make a video on first start up
Some quick maths thats approx. 106mph.
Whenever you see machinery in that colour you know you have something special.
Years ago helped a mate install a 3 phase drum sander into his workshop.
Just getting into the workshop was an ‘ancient Egyptian’ endeavour with levers and rollers!
Like that, pretty accurate too.
No time for daydreaming! The plates are 1/2” steel and won’t like stopping once wound up!
Don’t let @BobC near it!
Lol , yes, never sand on the up, if a12" disc nearly vapourised my finger i reckon a 30" one would have finished the job!
This one is also shod with 36g paper, I’m curious to see how fast it rasps off an inch of 4x2. I’ll be changing to 120g for our work
Is it working yet?
Not yet. I’m hoping to get a couple of days over Christmas to install it. It’s not a straightforward job as we need to re site the crosscut bench and move the planer/thicknesser to fit it in. We’ve got power in position though which is a bonus!
