Tory psychodrama runners and riders

I can’t help thinking that’s a losing strategy - they pissed the populace off enough for a landslide by being themselves, so if they keep pushing on in the same direction, expecting a different outcome…

Should be good for the sane majority, I’d have thought?

Whoever they go for will not survive x4 years if recent performance is anything to go by

It is very doubtful that whoever is elected will still be Leader at the next election.
They will be the same as IDS was, a stop gap while in opposition.
The job is a bot of a poisoned chalice which may well be why Atkins and Braverman are not running.

Also gives a chance for one of the new intake to come through the ranks, so by the time of the next GE they are not tainted by membership of the recent government

These things are practical, strategic and logical. Perhaps we have to factor in Egotistical, incompetent, corrupt and ineffectual into the mix here?

Absolutely, this is the Conservative Party we are talking about here

They’re obsessed with sucking the tiny, limp dicks of the hate-filled gammon bigots, and neglect the entire centre-ground they once commanded. They STILL don’t seem to have noticed that whatever collection of shitstains Farage is currently fronting already has the Spiteful Cunt demographic fully covered!

Priti Patel out of Tory leadership contest, as Robert Jenrick comes top in first round

Blackman is reading out the results now

Robert Jenrick: 28

Kemi Badenoch: 22

James Cleverly: 21

Tom Tugendhat: 17

Mel Stride: 16

Priti Patel: 14

That means Patel is out of the contest.

The next round of voting will take place on Tuesday next week, when another candidate will be eliminated.

Shame it’s not Squid Game.

That round of voting seems to confirm that the right wing of the Tory party has the upper hand in Parliament.

We’ll see what the next round brings but you’d be hard pressed to find two people less qualified to lead the Tory party than Jenrick or Badenoch.

The Tory party really is a sick joke. Shame that the joke has been at our expense for the last fourteen years.

The only thing the Tory party are concerned about is haemorrhaging votes to Reform.
They believe they lost the election because they weren’t right wing enough.

The only people voting in this election will be the Tory membership, so what the country thinks is irrelevant.

Received wisdom suggests that they will win fuck all until they return to the centre ground. If that no longer holds true, this country is in big trouble.

This comment was in the Grauniad earlier but I’ll be fucked in what world Jenrick or Badenoch could be viewed anywhere to the left of “right wing fucknugget”

Interestingly, supporters of both Robert Jenrick and Kemi Badenoch are painting their candidate as the more centrist one. They clearly feel that’s where the parliamentary votes lie.

Aye, the country votes left so the head bangers want to go further right. Great analysis of the situation.
