None of the current crop have any chance of power. Might be a good office temp, but not election fit. The membership is waiting for the next great white hope. Think Lozza Fox but a smidge less fascist.

Would certainly be a popular choice, easy to forget there were over 50 resignations from his own Government (who all presumably made errors of judgement) and those that are left would toady up to him again.

Was listening to R4 this morning where the small risk of Cleverly being knocked out was explained. They surmised that those tactically voting wouldn’t be so daft. Oooops.

Other point of view is that neither of the two candidates will be leader come the next election and will just be a modern day IDS.
The Cleverley can swoop in at the next leadership election and take the party on to the next GE.
(But I really don’t think they are clever enough to have planned such a sequence of events, too much like 4D chess!)
Reckon Johnson will be back in time for the next election after winning a safe seat by election,he is probably the tories only hope of keeping farage at bay.
Also a dangerous game for much of the membership as many won’t last another 5 years.
