Ugh, estate agents

My Dad did a part of his National Service at RAF Honiley in about 50/51. Flying Vampires out of there.

Here (left) leaning against one!

And, if memory serves, my younger sister would go for a riding lesson & help out in some stables at Fen End every Saturday. It was nice there then. Looks like HS2 is passing fairly close by to the North if aerial pics are anything to go by.

We used to go to a disco at The Boot at Honiley back in the 70’s

Claire and I had an offer accepted on this yesterday. Now it’s running around like mad painting and sorting out all of the things I’ve had on the list so we can sell this place asap. Not as pretty as the current house but Claire’s mum can’t do stairs anymore and is staying with us quite a bit due to her condition. New place will suit our needs perfectly and I won’t miss the Ā£500 a month heating bills on a 180 year old stone house with zero insulation. Now where do I put the HiFi?

I had to Google Rhu. Although in my defence I could actually point to Helensburgh on a map.

Very nice.

1970s? Or 60s

The Library room looks ideal.

Home report says approximately 45 years old, however the bit on the right viewing from the front is an extension. Garage, kitchen and rear of reception room was done around 2008.

I’m guessing that’s where it might end up but currently I’m angling for the bedroom with the doors onto rear garden as hifi/ office. I probably won’t win that battle but would feel emasculated if I didn’t at least put up a fight.

Nice!
Bake-off in summer? (or, being Glasgae, a fry-off?)

Dunno if my HiFi is up to bake off standards. I do a mean fry up though, local butchers homemade sausage, smoked bacon and black pudding are top notch.

Lovely, similar in many ways to our bungo in Norfuk. :+1:

I’m sure that both would be entirely adequate! :shallow_pan_of_food: :speaker_low_volume:

if environmental noise is of any concern, there are now national noise maps you can apply to gain access to:

airport flight path data is here:

looks like there are approx 1,000 movements per day, and a night restriction from 11pm to 6am

I may well be in Adelaide in Aug for a conference not far from those two places, looking forward to it

Fuck sake, mortgage is up for renewal in June so I was planning to wait until April when interest rates were predicted to drop.

Very aware of the flight paths Simon. As somebody who lived and worked in Richmond and Fulham during the Concorde era, that’s never worried us. In Adelaide they tend to fly far enough north of the area to not really be noticed.

It’s a shame that we don’t arrive until the end of September or we could have caught up.

Ffs… I doubt my mortgage in principle will lock in the rate
