Ugh, estate agents

Anything with a pool table is fine by me. Buy both!

If only

Could always rent one :man_shrugging:

$1.00 a game winner stays on?

Would take a while to recoup the investment!

You’ll never fit a brewery on either balcony. You could be doomed to the fetid piss that is Southwark Bitter for all eternity…

I’m sure I could find space. What are spare bedrooms for, eh

Not that!

Are you buying remotely or just doing a bit of research?

How long till you leave?

We leave in September. We are doing research with the intention to buy. Not likely to be remotely.

We have a month of accommodation in an apartment booked starting the second half of September which has full cancellation.

As we are free of tie, once we have viewed the property, we can transfer funds.

It’s that simple.

We did something similar moving from Edinburgh to London.

Rented in Shad Thames for about 9 months. Went out most weekends looking at different areas of London to see what we liked.

Just happened to find somewhere 10 minutes walk from SiL #1. Yeah, I got done up like a kipper there.

Any trogs with itchy feet here?

4.4% with no fee is the best I can get at the moment :frowning:

At least that’s locked in as a backup if rates don’t drop before May.

Fuck you Trump

Deal for current mortgage is up at end of June and of course the markets are busy shitting themselves about the inflation reports to come and BoE rate rises, so just managed to lodge a transfer at 4.05% for 2 years.

Rate ladder is being pulled up all the time now so if you have a deal due to expire it will be worth locking down your next one sooner than later.

So been trying to sell our house… went on the market last Monday. Lots of interest first four viewings Wednesday evening. Another seven scheduled for Thus/Fri. Second couple who viewed went into estate agents first thing Thursday morning and made a offer not too far off what we wanted. As they were a cash buyer we met in the middle, didn’t want to be involved in a chain as we already had an offer accepted on the new place. Brilliant. Estate agent cancelled all further viewings. Spent Saturday celebrating. Sunday was returning some furniture we had loaned to help with staging and collecting stuff we had left at my stepdaughters.

Come Tuesday afternoon get a call from estate agent saying they were pulling out. No real reason given. Claire in tears, I’m Fcking furious. Now trying to get people back to view and loosing time as a lot of people are on holiday and can’t come back for another week.

Tldr people are selfish thoughtless cunts especially where money and property are concerned.

It’s less common in Scotland as we sign missives before the property is actually sold. After that either party is in breach of contract if they pull out of the deal and liable are for all costs. Missives are usually signed a few weeks after the offer is agreed. Hence why gazumping is very unusual up here.

I’ve had people pull out of a purchase after going a closing date on my last flat but that’s easy, you just go through the list of bidders and ask them if they still want it.

This prick was standing outside the estate agents before it opened so he could immediately make an offer, so I thought it was a done deal as they were uber keen hence agreeing to take it off market rather than go to a closing date. Lesson learned.

Death, taxes, and the infinite cuntery of anything involving estate agencies: these are life’s only certainties :poop:

Fingers X’d for you: sounds like it’ll sell quickly no matter what.
