Ugh, estate agents

Have you spoke to them?

Nope, we’ve walked past the house many times with the dogs hoping to catch sight of the owners. Hel stopped me from walking up and ringing their bell to ask them when they were moving out!

When I was a kid wandering around Lickey Hills and beyond I always wanted to buy the Cadbury place

Stunning location, but whoever’s had it has managed to soul-suck the Arts & Crafts right out and ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ the living shit out of it - right down to the so-2020s Grey Bits Everywhere look.

Not just the worktops and feature walls that are shiny.

Totally agree, so disappointed after spending decades wondering what the inside was like while the owners ‘modernised’ it :sob:

Not a lot that couldn’t be totally refurbished and restored tho’ (reaches for garish wallpaper swatches…)

Only at vast expense - I suspect some amazing oak panelling and encaustic/Minton/whatever tiles left in skips…

Such a shame, but sadly common.

regular hum of road traffic noise from the A38 on the prevailing wind

I’m out

Well if you’re spanking a couple or three mill’ on a place then although it’s a shame the original isn’t there, you’re probably going to have the readies to invest in restoration if that’s your thing.

Real shame though.

The whole place is excessive, but I have never seen a leather floor :hushed:

We could perhaps rent it for the weekend and run a AA Show weekend. Although I think only a few of us have systems big enough to fill most of those rooms.

Isn’t that just your average builder’s pad?

In my parents house, there was a pigskin tiled floor, in a sun room!

Easy to wipe clean. I’m assuming @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion and @Penance were consultants on the project.

Nononononono!

NIGHTMARE getting human DNA out of leather flooring!

.

…especially when the leather used to be human too…
