How long can you stay on it for and is there a maintenance dose or do you have to stop altogether at some point?
Not gastronomy, I realise, but a regular take-away from my local Indian amounts to two meals. When I get it home I just eat half and freeze the other half.
I see what you wrote but I know what you mean (I assume that’s not an actual side-effect ).
Feeling hungry is ok. I think that after the course of these jabs end, this should be something to get used to.
Hunger can be a distraction though, or worse.
When I used to do a bit of theatre work, prep shifts could be long and busy. A very useful rule of thumb was that you had to worry about your people getting tired and cold and hungry. We were young, so we could cope almost indefinitely with any one of those albeit with some impact on effectiveness. If two hit though then it wouldn’t be long before people’s focus would go and their productivity would really fall badly. If all three were in action then you’d probably already lost them. Fatigue was nearly unavoidable so we deliberately kept them warm and well-fed.
I do accept there will be better times for it. Personally I find tiredness to be the enemy of my productivity. With hunger it usually goes after half an hour (for me) but I do admit I’m probably used to the feeling, as I generally fast for most of the day through the week.
I’m just saying that after the course of jabs there will still be some willpower needed, however it may not be to the same degree as now as the body will likely change. It just popped into my head and I posted without too much thought.
Good luck to all making a positive change to their lives.
And that’s why you don’t need mounjaro.
I made some mac and cheese on friday with the intention of freezing it for lunch this week. I ate the lot on friday night and was convinced I’d given myself cheese poisoning.
100% this. I only now after 50 odd years ‘get’ the feeling full and not being able to eat more. There was always room for more before mounjaro.
Does it mess with your sleep?
How tall are you @julian2002 ? As it’s rare I meet someone heavier than me.
I was 6’2” but time and being a lardy fuck for most of my life have taken their toll and I’m probably around 6’ now.
I’ve only been a ‘normal’ weight for one short period in my life when I was doing Atkins, cycling many miles every day, had a part time physical job and was a bit of a club monster at weekends.
The diet was a struggle but I could eat a ton as I was insanely active.
Fuck!
Spike was a weekend at Jim’s!
That’s amazing dude. Well done, keep at it.
I’m now at a weight where I can use my rowing machine without blowing out my ankles from dragging my bloated carcass about so I’m trying to get into the habit of using it every morning.
Is there an enduring response from these drugs, ie do they continue to suppress appetite to some extents once the user ceases taking it?
Or is it relying on the reduced appetite whilst on-treatment creating new eating habits, habitual smaller portions and more sustainable weight loss etc?
Or is it a case of stop taking the drug, stronger appetite returns and the weight piles back on?
I’ve just finished the 5mg course and that still wears off by friday. I’m jumping straight to 10mg and I’m hoping that will get me through the entire week.
The doses are 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. The 5/10/15 mg are maintenance doses so you can stay on them as long as you want and the in-betweens are for getting accustomed to the side effects
Yes it stops suppressing the appetite once you stop taking it.
My approach is that I’m using it as a tool to lose 4 stone so I can start running and exercising again.
Timely post from Fesshole this morning;
Shooting the dragon LOL.
