Yep will definitely give you a shout. I’ve been working with the Monklands remotely for the past year and that’s now got me into the Beatson to help them with pathway improvements etc which is much easier to do with some face to face time with the team. So I can see maybe 3 or 4 trips up from Birmingham airport in the next 6 months.
Well the Beatson is well placed for Mixed Up Records ![]()
Definitely Monorail for new. For 2nd hand Missing or Love Music. They are all in the city centre and you could walk between all three in 15 mins tops.
Bit further afield in the West end you have Mixed up and a music only Oxfam.
Thumbs up for Mixed Up on Otago. Is the hippy tea shop still going?
Tchai Ovna, I think so, it’s been there for as long as I can remember though I have never actually been in. There’s a cracking 2nd hand bookshop down that lane as well. Stravaigin, one of my favourite pubs/eateries just behind on Gibson St is also worth a visit.
Since I moved here I haven’t been in town much due to caring duties and then the pandemic but I have visited Some Great Rewards and Otherside on the south side. Both small indie stores. The former has more used vinyl and the latter new including a wee jazz section.
Please give me a shout when you’re up. It would be nice to meet you Wayne.
I didn’t even know they existed. Will need to pay them a visit next time I’m over at my mum and dads.
A few CDs. Might take a couple of hours to rip ![]()
Seriously, thank you so much to Dave @malbec for dropping these over.

Good shout I forgot all about that ![]()
I have top and bottom left - original purchases from the magazines back in the day.
Is that box full of similar stuff?
For anyone on the sauce and itching to buy things
Cheers Al

I think so. I haven’t dug past the Triassic layer yet.

I was tempted by That Petrol Emotion but have a couple of new albums due next week hopefully so had to show a some restraint.
Yeah, I’ve not bought much in the last couple of months, so this was welcome ![]()
