I think they were / are on at something I went / am going to.
I am very sad if it was the past tense version of that.

I greatly like Iona Lane’s music (and she’s really nice in person) so was happy to chip in to the Kickstarter for her next album. It’s a good way to help artists remain independent and creative.

I got the Blakey for my birthday last week, along with the Donald Byrd release from October.
I’m planning on listening to both the Tone Poet release of Kofi and the Classic Vinyl release of Royal Flush before I decide whether to get one or both. I’m a big fan of Donald Byrd but you can’t buy everything. Which did you get?
Royal flush
Imported? Or do they sell these UK?
Imported.
Great LP but as it is one of the ultimate lo-fi recordings it cracks me up to see this sort of reissue… Bet it is good though.
Its not ‘audiophile’ but then again it shouldn’t be. To me the recording captures the sound and energy of the music really well and still manages to recreate distinct instruments etc, without it turning into a murky mess which it so easily could have.
It also hasn’t suffered from modern EQing and compresssion etc. Simple and primal sounding - yes and that’s an essential part of the character of the album.
Has the want. Did you get stung for customs or did it just waft through?
Hasn’t arrived yet. I’ve had a lot of luck recently with records at least, but it has to come to an end some time.
I ordered John Coltrane and Van Morrison from the same series from the US site, and didn’t get stung for customs. Not going for the Stooges but hope same happens for a future order.
I think I must have got this tip from Mike @MJ2, but the line-up made it a bit of a no-brainer.
CD of Much Cheapness from eBay.
This might be worth a listen to as well then Guy @Gyroscope
The missing Beak album
