Day off tomorrow
I have the middle four of these Butcombe beers. Starting off with Goram, a 5% Pale Ale, the Rare Breed is also very nice, but the Gold is my favourite so far. My local sometimes has it on tap.

Aye right - what about during your micro-blackouts
I’ll let you know in a few days.
The Hoegaarden is damn fine though
Tried that some time ago. I found it a bit meh!
Tastes exactly like gin to me - what were you expecting.
Once you mix it 1 part gin to 4 parts tonic and add lemon and ice they all taste pretty much the same to me. Clearly I’m not as sophisticated as you.
Anyway it was a present from my mum for my birthday last week so I wasn’t going to throw it away.
they will all taste the same if you water them down that much. You’ll be losing all the botanicals that make each gin unique, and just retaining the strong flavours of juniper and alcohol.
Try 1 part gin to 2 parts tonic, and try adjusting the garnish to suit the key botanicals. Bulldog is quite delicate, not that strong on citrus, but with lavender and almond botanicals, you need to use far less tonic to avoid destroying it’s flavour profile.
I also think lemon is the wrong garnish, we tend to drink it with a thin strip of grapefruit peel or ungarnished. Others suggest garnishing with pomegranate or star anise.
As I say I am not sophisticated enough.
I do enjoy a g&t on a hot summers day but Aldi / Lidl own label is plenty good enough for the way I drink it.
I can see where you get your AA handle from now.
which is fine…

My local co-op must have screwed up with their pricing.
650ml bottles @ 0 pounds fucking 88p.
Of course, I cleared the shelf…
Result !
any good? seen that in the shop
I only actually bought them as they were going very cheap in work but I have to say It’s lovely stuff - very tasty and reminds me of a Citra beer. A perfect summer beer
