Bouquet is amazing, full of floral and fruity notes, but unless you quaff it in the manner of a professional wine snob, the palate is somewhat underwhelming compared to the nose, although certainly not unpleasant, strongly biased towards the citrus.
If you are prepared to look and sound like a cunt as you drink your £7.00 bottle of mass produced, transported in bulk UK bottled supermarket plonk, you are actually well rewarded for your loss of dignity, the bouquet is finally reflected upon ones palate, with the welcome addition of a not inconsiderable hit of pear drops.
Precis: if you can be arsed to put the effort in, it’s actually quite good. Otherwise, for the casual quaffer, a bit meh, tbh.

I’ve run out of beer Allan, and I fancied being Jilly Goulden for a minute or two.
I also fancy getting hammered tonight, so trying to decide between Smokey Black Grouse or Gunpowder Pussers rum. Or the Stolichnaya that Claire thinks she’s hidden away from me under the frozen veg…

Well, you know what Terry, for once I put the effort in, just because the nose was so good. And it was worth it just to extract the flavour.
Could I be arsed in a social situation? Absolutely not. But it wasn’t an awful wine by any stretch, it’s probably very acceptable for anyone who isn’t being picky, but tonight, I felt like being picky, and it was actually worth the effort for once.

I have finally recovered from drinking countless Aspall ciders at the pub last night. Losing count is the best tell that you had too many.
