What good things have you found on Bandcamp recently?

Gib Big Special £1.20 for a 1 minute Jonah Lewie cover.

I haven’t actually heard it yet but it’s for Save The Children* for Gaza so it’s all a bit moot.

* how much of my life have they had? Weirdly the Malvern chapter isn’t a social thing - they’re true believers in making the world a better place.

The AGM was always held in my mother’s flat which was basically a living room that you could roller skate around with a couple of tiny rooms off it, and as a result of her hoarding had two sofas and 22 chairs of one sort and another in it.

One for you Paul @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion - a few of his albums as pay what you want for 48 hours I believe.

Cheers Al - saw him live a few times over the years, but never felt his music translated well to studio/home.

Stasislogue EP | Anoesis (bandcamp.com)

I mostly use bandcamp for obscure electronic / dance / house / techno stuff that is hard to get elsewhere. A lot of the weird stuff coming out of Germany almost always ends up on bandcamp!

Bought the vinyl, thanks.

Dear Scott by Goliath

Nope, looks like they didn’t even do that.

Yay the insatiable greed of private equity cockspangles.

Fuck.

Site monitors say it is down for maintenance. It had better be, it owes me 200+ downloads.

It’s up for me

A zero-warning global 503 doesn’t sound like anything planned to me.

Yes, back up for me too now.

Not exactly reeking of stability tho’

I’d best get some sort of mass download app sorted then, while I still can.

I’m a big fan of brute force and ignorance :+1:

To emphasise, personally I wouldn’t expect it to go dark quickly e.g. this year.

But the writing is on the wall sadly.

One of the bands I regularly buy off sent a message linking a Bandcamp download app about a week after the sale was announced.

I think I’d best put my arse into gear and get cracking.

I don’t have anything like the number you do, and have never trusted any platform having watched a fair few die over the years, so am now relieved I’ve got everything backed-up already.

Damn shame if Bandcamp is going to go face-down in the birdseed, as I really like it as a platform - best thing since Epitonic for my tastes.

It’s a great platform for more esoteric / exotic bands, that’s for sure. It will be a great loss if / when it expires.
