What I'm watching (Part 1)

I never told Bruno they did sequels.

Probably the right thing to do to be fair!
They should have stopped after the first.

I think it needed a sequel, just not the ones it got.

The issue of human vs machine is really cool. There are strengths and weaknesses to each; in the ideal sequel Neo as the One should have been able to create a new society that allowed man and machine to work in harmony, having the creativity and randomness of people plus the rigour and correctness of machine.

They fucked it up so badly.

You know while you’re still on the sick for the foreseeable, why don’t you try and write a sci fi story/book. Seriously not taking the piss, you have some good ideas.

A friend from university became a sci-fi writer. He had spent years exploring ideas with another friend, they were both amazingly creative. When he wrote the books, the other one kinda freaked out as his ideas were all being used without his explicit permission.

Basically, everything can be a reason to fall out with people.

And yet you still post shit on here

my wife has sniffed out at least 2 examples of straight plagiarism just this week in students work

Trouble with the Curve.

Can you ever forgive me. A nice film based on the true story of a down at heel writer who takes to forging & selling letters supposedly from famous people. Melissa McCarthy stars along with Richard E. Grant almost reprising Withnail. Worth a look

Yes.

What was the film called?

Saw that last night. I thought it was great to see such a subtle, nuanced film emerge from Hollywood for a change :+1:

Yes, character development is a lost art these days.

John Wick 3

Action over narrative nadir.

What do you mean? The narrative smoothly progressed from head stabbings, through eye stabbing, to full impaling. What more could you hope for?
