It really was a ‘boot-through-the-tv’ interview.
I lost count of the amount of times I shouted cunt
I can’t watch any of them. Hateful lying cunts
What Happened to Monday.
Interesting dystopian film on Netflix.
I’ve never really sat down and listened to the beatles, yet the music is so ingrained in my mind. It must of been played all around me in the 60s yet I was unaware.
Paul draper from mansun:
The Beatles Get Back - Conclusions.
What a brilliant drummer Ringo Star was / is, he was hired to compliment what John & Paul wanted, not challenge them in many ways like Pete Best did, he’s been written out of history in this documentary. Always use tea towels on your snr and floor tom. Lennon is still arguably the best rock vocalist ever. Macca was actually a good dictator and did his best to keep the band together after Lennon handed over the reigns in '68, and my god was he productive at this point with the amount of songs he brought to the party. 3 number 1’s weren’t even used that were played during these sessions. If Macca was just a bass player, he’d be one of the best ever. The truth often comes out with time and Harrison was eventually vindicated as a songwriter in the streaming era after trying to crash the party in this documentary but being blocked by the alpha males, check out the biggest Beatle song on Spotify, its a Harrison composition, Here Comes The Sun, it’s the biggest Beatle song in the streaming era, relegating Lennon and Macca to second place if you go by stats, and everyone does these days. Huge respect to Yoko for keeping a dignified silence over the years regarding those events. Ringo’s biggest fan is Maureen, she’s bang into his grooves on the roof, as we all should be. A U67 is the most versatile microphone ever, forget 87’s and 58’s on guitar amps, The Beatles used 67’s, that’s why whatever amps and gutars they used, it consistently sounded good, its the punch and clarity. Mind you Freddie and The Dreamers used the same gear and nobody goes into a studio and asks to sound like them. Above all you’ve gotta be mates and let the synergy of events happen to a degree, luck is paramount, as is god given talent, but a lot of the time you make your own luck in this world. The Let It Be / Abbey Road sessions are arguably the best bunch of songs the band ever did and they peaked and buckled under the strain after it all, the media, the pressure and it had run its course anyway. It’ll never be repeated, a perfect storm of creativity, personalities and geography, equipment, ruthlessness, good and bad decisions and culture asymilation.
Outstanding work Peter Jackson for bringing a stunnnig and relatively truthful conclusion to The Beatles story, a bit of jiggery pokery and some bits hiding in plain sight. It’s a truth, the closest anyones ever got to the truth, but not THE truth. The real truth in this documentary is it confirms The Beatles were and are the best band ever, and nobody will ever surpass them and they bowed out at their peak. Awe inspiring all round. Mel Evans, you legend, every band needs a Mal Evans or you can’t function, right where’s me tea towel, I’m in the studio Monday.
tl;dr
I doubt I will watch the documentary either.
Whilst I appreciate the massive influence they have had I can’t remember that last time I played a Beatles record. I have never bought one though I have had a few given to me.
In preparation …
House of Gucci
A bit all over the place, and the accents are comedy. Gaga is great and clearly enjoying herself.
I quite enjoyed it.
Will definitely give this a watch but now I’m already wanting the vinyl mono box set!
Ditto. There’s the odd track I enjoy, but most of it I wouldn’t give the shelf space too tbh. But that’s personal preference, not a judgement on quality.
Finished the latest installment of Money Heist - think that’s the end of the show now. Entertaining trash I’d say.
Also started Valley of Tears, on C4, an Israeli drama about the Yom Kippur war. So far I think it’s excellent, though it could have explained a little more of the background I think, rather than launching straight into the war. But it was probably originally made for a domestic audience who would have been familiar with that.
Me too.
I thought it was great. It kept me wanting more no matter how ludicrous.
I thought the end was decent, as they kept the curve balls coming despite always knowing the only real way it could finish (in rough terms).
UK TV premiere of ‘Idiot Prayer – Nick Cave Alone at Alexandra Palace’ this Friday (10th December) at 9.00pm on BBC Four:
Ozzy immediately sets timer record to…
The Wall, BBC 1
Been ‘enjoying’ this, its entertaining given the amount of work I now do in pharma and contrasting what goes on in Murrica (basically anything goes by the looks of it).
Disney+
Have you read the sackler book?
Not yet but that’s where I’m headed.
They need hanging. Nasty, greedy, murdering cunts. Not that I’d want to prejudice your views of course.

Seemingly it is the end but there are plans for spin off franchises. Berlin will be the first one to strike out on his own in a spin-off scheduled for 2023.
