Thought it was quite funny and entertaining, as sequels go a success.
Started Hellbound, bit weird so far, not quite sure why itâs bigger than Squid Game, but will stick with it and see where it goes anyway.
Itâs not great. Alice in Borderland is good if you like that kind of Squid Game thing.
Yeah I saw that and liked it. Itâs funny, I used to watch quite a lot of Asian cinema on the Tartan Asia Extreme label years ago (stuff like the Oldboy trilogy, etc.). These newly popular shows feel very much the same as those films, yet only now seem to be becoming popular. Maybe itâs just because they get so much more exposure through Netflix.
The Last Mountain (on iplayer). About Alison Hargreavesâ son Tom Ballard, who was lost on Nanga Parbat. Recommended, though not an easy watch.
The walking programme on bbc2 tonight ,âŚup through Millers Dale in the peak district ,âŚwhere paul sodders spent his holiday this year was delightful âŚdid you see it paulâŚ
Darn.
Missed it. Sodders was actually there to clean my boots of an evening.
Whoever posted up Mr Inbetween - thanks for the tip! That was bloody superb. Shame itâs over so quickly.
Might be able to see it again on catch up âŚit was lovely with the female stand up comedianâŚ

On Netflix.
Somewhat of a missed opportunity, there was truly some weird and wonderful things going on in the Canyon in the mid-late 60âs. Much of this is glossed over in favor of the big names and the well known stories. I also found the idea of using contemporary artists to cover âold songsâ kind of trite (Even though some of them have a bloody good goâŚNora Jones and Fiona Apple spring back to mind) Watchable though and in parts evocative. I guess my gripe is they skipped all the free love - FFS.
Fifth Gear Recharged.
VBH the sexiest giggle in the world.

I really like that Kia but a 350 kW charging station

Rick Steinâs India.
Now I have to eat curry tonight.
Like half the internet, I went through the three part docu (Disney+) this week. Initially I thought Pt. 1 was OK, Pt.2 I found more interesting. Pt.3 resolved things in many ways. To be honest there were parts I kind of just gawped at like a voyeur with time to kill. Other moments were like getting to know some cool friends. 90% of the film is rehearsals - In these from time to time you forget what you are watching, it could be any band bantering and riffing away⌠But itâs not, itâs the Beatles and you get to observe songs like âLet it beâ take form in front of your eyesâŚIt is actually a privilege.
There is a lot to write, Iâll leave it to people who can write.
I came away neither enthused or disappointed. It may have been my mind set but numb wouldnât be too far off. This morning however my head is full of Beatles! Heavy Shit it seems takes longer⌠A new found love of Billy Preston, A new found sartorial crush on Paul McCartney and an overall deepening of appreciation. I canât remember a film that had an after effect quite like it, seemingly I thought I âknewâ the Beatles I had expected tension between McCartney and Lennon, instead you see George and Ringo are often the most over it. All in, as close as youâre going to get, real life story to a sound youâve always known.
I like Mal.
Paul casually while leaving âMal, you should get a hammer and an anvilâ
Next scene, an anvil.
Dominic âPoundshop Nosferatuâ Raab on Andrew Marr. More slime than a bucket full of lamprey.
