It is a truism that every generation disparages both the source and cpntent of the media consumed by both the generation above and the generation below, and that in each case that attitude is unfairly harsh.
Except Italian Brainrot.

I thought it was quite disappointing.
The end made me lol though.
I liked it up until the end which was wtf have you done this for?
It just made me lol. Literally wtf?!
I didnât hate it, just found it disappointing.
The Gold (Pt2) a second series about the Brinks Mat robbers/conspirators & what became of them.
As good as the first series. An interesting story well told.
Well worth watching
Why the hell our government continues to support & enable these atrocities is beyond me. Each time a new one occurs, almost fucking daily, I wonder whether it was enacted using munitions or hardware that we or the Americans supplied. And yet the cunts are handwringing about Bob Vylan at Glastonbury.
Strangely you can watch it on facebook
A real pain
Kieran Culkin stars as one of a pair of somewhat dysfunctional Jewish cousins (he actually won this yearâs Best Supporting actor Oscar) who join a Polish culture/Holocaust tour. Doesnât sound that promising a plot, however this is a good, sometimes dark but also very funny film & I recommend it.
Looks like Foundation S3 starts next week. The other two were enjoyable piffle.
Given how great/deep the books were, thatâs quite a damning indictment. Really should try watching them still.
I havenât read the books but wouldnât be surprised if they fell into the âunfilmableâ category, and in the second series in particular, everyone just went with it
I certainly donât hold to the school of thought that films or tv series should be identical facsimiles of the books, Iâm far more interested in them capturing the feel and soul of the books than every last technical detail.
The filmic versions of JG Ballardâs Crash and William Burroughsâ Naked Lunch are much more films about the books rather than straightforward adaptations, which are probably impossible.
The Old Guard 2.
Netflix.
Heaped pile of dung. The first hour is up there with the worst Iâve seen. Hopeless shite.
And the âendâ is just a set up for number 3.
Me and Mrs Waxy started (yes, really) watching Succession this evening. 3 episodes in and it seems promising.
Just finished watching Dept Q on Netflix. Thoroughly recommend it.
Kind of felt like someone else had made it. Gone were the elements that made the first mildly compelling⌠Didnât completely hate it, as pre nap fodder it served itâs purpose.
Just finished the Bear season 3:
It continues the strange momentum â deepening everything all the time. It leans into quiet, the mundane, unspoken weight of personal histories, then jumps to screaming tension. Parts of a few episodes roll out in near real-time, itâs not something many shows could pull off but its very immersive.
That said when emotion hits â itâs both barrells. Several scenes were so intimate & raw, they feel unscripted, more like lived experience. Itâs in these moments the show becomes something rare: a series that trusts its audience to sit in the silence, to notice the details, to feel the tension build in a glance or a pause.
The cast remains its greatest asset. Across the board, the performances are nuanced and deeply human. Characters arenât just developed â they are continually revealed, layer by layer, with literary precision. These people feel real. You end up giving a shit. You flinch. You root for them.
This show operates in a very different way to a great deal of what is out there (Or whatâs been done before)
