My mate Robert was the Fhloston Commander
One Battle After Another. Found the style quite annoying to start with, but settled into it after a while and ended up really enjoying it.
A neon fever dream that shouldn’t work but does. Milla Jovovich is so good in this.
I was awake to early this morning, so watched this for the first time, rather enjoyed it
.
I’m a huge fan of Luc Besson and Eric Serra (big blue is also a fantastic film) and when you throw in the genius of Gaultier it becomes one of the best films ever made.
Bruce Willis, Alien Opera, flying Taxi, spiritual exploration does sound fucked on paper but works . I also like ‘Lucy’ which didn’t seem to hit the spot for a lot of people but as a spectacular eye feast worked IMHO
Yeah I did as well, but anything with Scarlet Johansson ![]()
Also liked Valerian although it got an absolute slaying in the reviews ![]()
I wanted to like it
Went to Cinewold to watch it this afternoon. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendation.
It is strong stuff but very good.
It is on at the Duke Of Yorks (Art cinema in Brighton which is probably regretting it’s name).
But not at a time I can make it.
Will have to look out for it elsewhere or a download at some point.
Using Newhaven as the location there seems to be a few places around the area showing it this week. Pick a day.
Say nothing
..ch4 catch-up…
I do like finding things that Gill & I can both enjoy.
All Her Fault starring Sarah Snook (Shiv from Succession) was one such.
A wealthy family has a child abducted & over 8 episodes a complex tale unravels which keeps surprising right up to the end. There’s also a hint of Columbo about the detective trying to unpick the mess. A good engaging watch.
We liked that too, although it felt like the build-up was too long. Final episode was good fun though!
