Why are remakes (mostly) extremely disappointing?
I now yearn to watch the original again to at least cleanse me of this horrible, third rate impostor.
Much like refusing to watch the remake of The Italian Job, I would not watch that. In my head, some things cannot be bettered. Must be a coincidence that they are both Caine films.
Hard to believe that he appeared in the remake of GC
What was he thinking?

…The second half whisks past poor and cuts straight to doodoo. A glimmer of hope in the form of Trinity appears, she’s gone from sexy to sinew, scratch that gristle (See Madonna for simile) I was left with half a lob on and a mild feeling of self loathing.
Meanwhile Neo’s confusion as to what film he’s actually acting in, Bill & Ted Or The Matrix, made for some unintentional levity. Overall however I was left praying to be smothered in mucus and placed in a robotic incubator so my ‘energy could be harvested,’ the latter being the precise effect the film affords the audience.
6/10 because it’s Christmas.

I’ve been enjoying these videos where someone has restored an Avon RIB and is taking it in stages on a trip around the UK. They have a drone with them so get some great accompanying aerial footage.
The Bristol Channel one is a good watch. I’ve still got to get through several of the others.

Carols from Kings tonight.
One year it was one of my little school chums doing the treble solo for “Once in Royal David’s …”
For the ensuing 40-odd years I don’t think my mother ever missed the opportunity on Christmas Eve to remind me that it was him and not me.
No negative associations with that programme then, no Sir.

I usually listen to it on R4 (3pm) as it also reminds me of my Mum at Christmas. (Fortunately with no feelings of guilt attached)

Our daughter just had us watch a brilliant film, called " My Octopus Teacher".
It is a Netflix special. AMAZING!!
