I have been meaning to watch this for months, The Amy at the BBC record arrived a couple of days ago so jogged my memory.
Very sad watch in some ways but with some real belly laughs.
I did lol when Amy was quoted as saying ‘I am not a lesbian - until I’ve had four sambucas’
Fantastic satire on how the world would react to the prospect of its unexpected sudden demise.
Just finished this, one of the best things I’ve watched in a long time. Dark as a very dark thing.
Hefty swipes at populism, US politics, the US media and how it covers serious issues, celeb culture, sinister tech billionaires and so much more. Sometimes, rather than rapier thrusts, satire needs to put on big boots and give it’s subject a proper kicking. Don’t look up repeatedly hits the target
I enjoyed Coco (Wall E and UP! being the other two I previously) watched.
I still can’t get it out of my head that these are kids films so was pleasantly surprised by the Frida Kahlo references.
During lock down my firm gave over a half hour slot in the week to anyone who wanted to talk about a author/book, song/band/artist, painting/artist that was important to them.
A woman did a powerful presentation on Frida Kahlo who she had studied in her art degree and it stuck in my head.
Just got back from the new Matrix, which I thought was great. But not many in there at the IMAX, and it’s the last day there, with Spiderman taking over the IMAX screen. Has it done badly? Seems a shit time to release a film anyway.
