Where can I watch this ? I remember seeing a trailer for it a while back and then fitting all about it.
Thanks
Very good assessment of Donât look up but donât read it if you havenât seen the film yet.
I bought it on Google Movies when it was fleetingly very cheap. Itâs also rentable there, and Iâve definitely seen it on Amazon Prime Video too.
If torrenting, well worth getting in addition the free VLC media program, which will play any file type. Some of the newer file types - MKV and h265 are able to be excellent qualty but quite small in size. I use qbittorrent as the torrent client without any issues btw.
There are plenty of torrents of Dont Look Up. If youâre finding your service provider has blocked Pirate Bay, try googling pirate proxy which will give you mirror sites for them and other torrenting sites.
I find it a sad indictment of the film industry that despite having a season ticket to the cinema, and subs to Sky Cinema, Netflix and Amazon Prime I still need to torrent stuff to watch what I want. Is ÂŁ50+ per month not enough already?
I much prefer the music system: with Qobuz I can listen to pretty much anything, whenever I like.
We have Prime and Netflix, and are trapped by the feeling we are still missing something.
I spend too much time watching crap and sitting stationary as it is, we really donât need more TV, what we need is more fresh air.
Outdoor screen ?
Hooked on Britannia at the moment. Just finished Season 1. Apart from that, we all really enjoyed Donât Look Up. Yes, itâs a bit of a blunt instrument, but itâs not pretending to be anything else. Thought it achieved itâs aims well, and loved some of the characters - especially the creepy phone network dude.
Also watched Dune for the third time, and am now full, for the moment. Did my home cinema setup proud though. And The Last Duel - Ridley Scottâs new film. Dark, but excellent.
Have you watched the Brian Cox summary about the film on YT yet Guy? Really good.
No, will have a look
Watched Goodbye Christopher Robin yesterday. What a sad film.
Yeah, with streaming itâs mostly âEveryone has everything, with a few exceptionsâ. With film and TV, the crossover is minimal.
I also have the challenge that without a VPN, I often simply cannot obtain what I want regardless of willingness to pay.
When I first starting streaming and Netflix was cheap and amazon Prime was LoveFilm, it was much more like the music streaming services. Itâs got broken down due to these companies producing their own films and TV series and therefore becoming a competitor rather than just a carrier of other peoples stuff.
These companies then think they need a piece of the pie and we end up with too many services all offering different things and spending too much money, especially as the price of these services seems to keep going up.
Potentially there will be more stations / platforms to try their hand but I rather hope in time the wheat gets sorted from the chaff.
I can imagine the film industry looking at what has happened to the music industry (Spotify etc etc) and thinking âfuck the bottom will fall out of the industryâ Fortunately the music industry can make money from live performances Covid permitting, but unless theatrical adaptations take off in the big way (again Covid permitting) then they will fight tooth and nail to keep the revenue streams profitable.
Of course Streaming will grow if cinemas remain closed.
Binged watched The Tourist
I binge watched that a few weeks ago and thought it was brilliant.
I always avoided as the trailers made it look like another roman centrurion thing but itâs actually very weird and funny.
Watch in Korean with subs as the dubbing is shit.
