The software engineering on this. Dear lord, you wouldn’t trust them to automate your toaster.
Watching the monitoring team on the platform go from cheery optimism at the start of the test day to having significant chunks of their real-time observations bleeped out for 9pm watershed reasons would have been funny if it weren’t so tragic.
Cheap and easy weekend guff. Some dreadful set pieces (if you cameo, do it well! And any Dad scene!), but it wasn’t dreadful.
Only if you have limited time and nothing better. It’s ok.
Agree.
But it was on the sort of bad and acceptable scale. Some was awful and some was ok. Sort of cancelled each other out.
We didn’t have the energy for anything we cared about.
It was very cheap, I’ll give you that.
Think most of the cash went on that Team America beard.
Top Gun Maverick. Some nice cockpit footage, but mostly cgi.
Another gratuitous topless male sports scene to keep that particular fanbase happy as with the 1st film. Nothing wrong with that though. At least they aren’t pretending.
Nonsensical plot.
Schmaltzy soundtrack.
Very questionable story arc with Yanks attacking some unspecified nukular installation because someone somewhere isn’t playing along with the evil empire’s wishes.
Unashamed US military recruitment effort to drum up more servicemen.
Too long.
3/10
I’ve not even seen the original. I caught up with this a couple of nights ago
which has a good deal of the list in it, but does at least ask what it does to the US combatants, if paying not much attention to the other side. It was well made and decently acted at least.
