What I'm watching (Series 2)

The French Dispatch.

Visually exceptional, always intriguing, yet sometimes a bit flat.
Never dull, though. When it’s good it’s great. Some superb turns.

I get what Wes Anderson is trying to do in making a quirky art house euro film like Amelie or Delicatessen. He just never manages to pull it off.

Any good? Bridges & Lithgow ought to be!

He only ever did one good film

I enjoyed the first episode and have just downloaded the second. So far so good. Intriguing enough to keep me interested. Bridges and Lithgow are top drawer so expectations are high.

Same here Paul.

Talking Pictures is great wee channel for older films and TV series - enjoying it at the moment.

Yeah, the adverts do me nut in and there’s plenty of shite on there but always a gem or two each week.

Along with Better Tomorrow, annoyingly hard to get in a decent format.

The best I have is DVDs that date back to the 90s.

Agreed.
I’ll need to give We Own This City a watch but as it’s on Sky Atlantic and I refuse to give those cunts a penny for Murdoch, now Comcast reasons. I’ll need to download or stream from somewhere else. .

Second only to House MD :grinning:
