What's the pointYour favourite drummeroops that went a bit wrong, bloody tablet

Rock n roll lifestyle eh?

My list would be enormous.
My current fave is Gavin Harrison. If I get bored later I’ll compose a shortlist.

Omar Hakim plays on Weather Report Domino Theory. Awesome.

I like Stevie Wonder’s drumming on Talking Book, innervisions, fulfillingness. He is so unconventional it is very refreshing.

Agree with all the above. Would add Ian Paice and, for someone not known as a drummer, Prince was no slouch.

It really is. I first came across him on Sting’s debut solo album and then the corresponding live album. If you can get past Sting being Sting, that group of musicians he put together was really quite exceptional.

Far too many, a couple of my favourites, Pierre Moerlen and Jojo Mayer.

Neil Peart, best I’ve ever heard

Bonham probably. But Peart and Bruford are up there.

I like the drumming gorilla off of that advert. Properly talented gorilla that.

Though even Animal meets his match sometimes.

Off the top of my head I’d say Jaki Liebezeit from Can and Dan Peters from Mudhoney. Oh and Clyde Stubblefield. Would also go for Stevie Wonder too, especially on Innervisions.

I honestly don’t know what’s so funny. Ringo played on some of the finest popular music ever, this alone makes him highly influential. Add in that he swings like a bastard, is absolutely rock solid time wise and is a lefty playing a right handed kit, which means all his fills are the wrong way round and interestingly unconventional, and you have a pretty amazing player. Fuck flash and machismo, he played the songs, beautifully.

I like John Maher too, also Topper Headon from that era. Alan Myers the original Devo drummer was excellent too. I saw them a couple of times about 10-12 years ago and the guy playing didn’t have the same feel at all.

It’s Maher or we’re not talking about the same guy (original Buzzcocks drummer). Topper was of course fantastic. Alan Myers from Devo was another great drummer. His beat onSatisfaction is genius.
