Whiskey/whisky

Remember when that first came out, saw a bottle in Sainsburys in the early 2000’s for around £20 and bought it as the name looked interesting.

£32 is still a bloody good price for what I remember it tasting like.

Not a big fan of very peaty/smoky whisky and think that was quite mild and sweet. Will have to revisit that one.

Yep, Bruichladdich are unpeated, Bunnahabhain (mostly), the few unpeated Islay malts.

Thought my malt whiskey days were long gone (over indulging reasons)
But this is lovely with no peat.
Controversial, but a splash of water opens it up nicely
Next Amzn bottle scheduled for june2024, might have to move forward.

Is actually the reason I got into whisky. College bar had that as their single malt when I had a dose of freshers flu and it did the job in killing it off.

Now this is a nice wee setup

Forgot I had this, tasted it tonight…

Meh, and meh again. VERY disappointing.

Just back from a weekend in London. First visit to the Whisky Exchange in Covent Garden, and picked up these.

Picked up on holiday! Not sure if I want to be opening this one or punting it on to the auctions!

Just started this. I picked it up at the Lakeland Distillery last summer.

Like a warm, spicey fruitcake.

Is that a good thing in a whisky? Can imagine it being quite nice in a rum. Lovely bottle though.

Not as spicey as a rum but not too dissimilar either now you mention it. Matured in sherry and red wine casks. I’m enjoying it all the same.
