Why shouldn't I buy an old S Class?

Anyone got any insight here. This, for example, looks like the perfect solution to my 4 x 6ft people problem:

You should absolutely get one. Top choice.

Or just get a Tesla.

That’s cheap for a fully furnished soundproof listening room with top sound system.
Lovely car too :+1:

They are pretty good cars, BUT if they go wrong then repair prices rival Rolls/Bentley and put Porsche in the shade. So buy full service history and avoid starship mileage (and also ultra-low mileage.)

Usual advice: give Papa Phil a call.

Also - are they actually roomy inside?

Nice looking motor for not too much £££

The S-Class is roomy, but so is the Audi A6 and for lots less money. Also cheaper to run.

I know, I know. But they are cheap and roomy. My ex-boss had one. It was two feet shorter than the XJ6 I had at the time, but loads more space inside and a bigger boot.

If it was £100k car when new it will still cost the same as a £100k car to keep it on the road.
